Ordering Attachment Spare Parts and Wear Parts - How It Works at Jaegel

Teeth, cutting edges, bushings and seals wear out over time. We explain what you need to know when ordering a spare part and how the process works at Jaegel.

Excavator ripper teeth as a spare part

In short: An attachment's wear parts - teeth, cutting edges, bushings and seals - need regular replacement before the wear reaches the attachment's main structure. Ordering a spare part goes faster if you have the attachment's exact model and dimensions on hand.

What wears out fastest on an attachment

  • Teeth and tips: a bucket's teeth are the first part to come into contact with soil and stones, and wear out the fastest accordingly.
  • Cutting edges and blades: on grading and leveling buckets, a dulled straight cutting edge reduces leveling accuracy.
  • Bushings and pins: bushings at pivot points wear from constant movement, causing play between the mount and the bucket.
  • Seals: seals on hydraulic attachments (for example tiltrotators and hydraulic grapples) age and split over time, even if the attachment is used little.

When to replace a wear part before it's too late

Wear on teeth and cutting edges is normal, but a problem arises once the wear reaches the bucket's main body. At that point, it's no longer a simple wear-part replacement, but a major repair or even replacement of the bucket. Check the length of the teeth and cutting edges and the play in the bushings regularly - once they start visibly changing, it's time to order new parts.

What to have on hand when ordering a spare part

  • The attachment's exact model: the product name or the marking on the plate, for example S40 Digging Bucket, along with dimensions.
  • Dimensions of the old part: if the label is gone, measuring the worn part (length, mounting hole diameter) helps find the right replacement.
  • A photo of the old part: especially useful for pins, bushings and seals, where a small difference in size makes a part unsuitable.

How ordering a spare part works at Jaegel

Send us the attachment's details and, if needed, a photo of the worn part. We'll check whether the spare part is in stock or needs to be ordered, and give you an honest delivery time. Common wear parts, for example typical teeth and tips, are often quickly available; custom-sized parts may take longer.

How to extend the time between wear-part replacements

Regularly clearing soil and stones off the bucket after work, choosing the right bucket for the type of work (for example a toothed bucket for hard ground), and keeping mounts in good condition all help wear parts last longer. Also see our range of ripper teeth on the ripper teeth page, if standard teeth tend to wear quickly when working in hard ground.

Send us the attachment's details and a description of the worn part, and we'll find a suitable spare part. Get in touch via our contact page.
