In short: Delivering an attachment differs from an ordinary parcel shipment, since it's heavy, often oversized cargo. For deliveries to Estonia, Finland and Latvia, what matters is the cargo itself, its weight, its dimensions, and the unloading options at the destination. Ask us directly for the exact terms for your region and order.
Why attachment transport differs from ordinary freight
Digging buckets, grapples and forks weigh anywhere from hundreds of kilograms to several tonnes, and their dimensions won't fit an ordinary delivery van without separate planning. That's why, before ordering, you need to think about how the cargo will arrive and how it will be unloaded at the destination.
What to consider when planning transport
- Weight and dimensions: heavier and bulkier attachments need a suitable transport vehicle and, in some cases, special loading equipment.
- Unloading at the destination: make sure the destination has lifting equipment or a machine available to unload the cargo from the vehicle. Without it, a heavy attachment can't reach the ground once it arrives.
- Accessibility of the delivery address: narrow roads, a steep entrance and limited maneuvering space affect what size of vehicle can reach the destination.
- Destination country: there are some differences in customs and documentation between Estonia, Finland and Latvia, though within the EU these are generally smooth.
Delivery to Finland and Latvia
Delivery to Finland usually goes by ship or ferry, which adds a bit of buffer to the schedule compared to a domestic Estonian delivery. Delivery to Latvia goes by road and is generally similar in timing to a domestic Estonian delivery. In both cases, it's worth confirming the delivery time before ordering, especially if the start of the job is already fixed.
Common mistakes in delivery planning
- Unloading capability isn't checked in advance: the truck arrives, but the cargo can't be unloaded if the destination lacks suitable equipment.
- The deadline doesn't allow enough buffer: cross-border transport can depend on weather and logistics, so plan to start a bit earlier than the job's actual start date.
- The address and contact details are inaccurate: this causes unnecessary delays, especially for heavier shipments.
